October 2021 Meeting
Our next meeting on Monday 18th October will be a little different. Because the North Beach Bowling Club at Mylestom will have in place its “No Double Jab – No Entry” policy, we will be meeting outdoors at the nearby football field where we conduct our casting sessions. Starting time will be 5.00pm. A free sausage sizzle will be available if you want something to eat.
The night will be all about casting. Bring a rod and practice, participate in some casting games or get some help from the casting instructors present. With daylight saving in place, last light is 7.30pm so you will have a couple of hours to tune up your casting.
The free sausage sizzle will start from 5.30pm or you can cook your own until we pack up. Tea, coffee and hot water will be available.
The usual raffle will be held with minor prizes being drawn on the night. Somehow, last month’s major prize of the reel case donated by Bill Anderson, is still in the Club box. All of us with poor memories can’t recall what happened. If you think you won it you had better let us know or it will be redrawn at the October meeting. The next major prize will be drawn at our November meeting and will be a carry-lite waistpack from South Pacific.
As well as bringing your fly rod (there will be some Club rods available) make sure you bring a camp chair and some insect repellent. Come along for a cast, a chat and a good night out.
In the event of wet weather the meeting will be cancelled.

As we haven’t been able to hold a meeting for some months the night we will be devoted to business matters when decisions of the Committee can be ratified and plans put in place for the coming months. We don’t have any guest speakers or special activities to persuade you to attend but hopefully you will still come along to participate
